PURPOSE
The General Superintendent serves as the senior field leader responsible for the strategic oversight, workforce allocation, and quality execution of all tile and terrazzo installations across multiple project sites. This role manages site supervisors and foremen, orchestrates complex material logistics (including aggregates, epoxy systems, and large-format tile shipments), and ensures that all installations strictly adhere to architectural specifications, and NTMA/TCNA standards.

PURPOSE
The Project Manager is the primary business and financial manager for assigned tile and terrazzo installation projects. This role owns total accountability for the project lifecycle-from contract award and long-lead material procurement through final financial closeout. The Project Manager serves as the primary professional liaison between the company, General Contractors, architects, and vendors. They are responsible for protecting project margins, executing precise change-order management, coordinating submittals and financial close outs.

TERRAZZO SUPERINTENDENT
We are seeking an Terrazzo Superintendent to oversee site operations for commercial terrazzo flooring installations. Job sizes range from 5,000 to 100,000 SF. This role is responsible for managing crews, coordinating schedules, ensuring quality workmanship, maintaining safety compliance, and driving projects to successful completion on time. The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of terrazzo systems, construction sequencing, substrate preparation, and finish quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Supervise on-site installation activities from mobilization through final completion.
- Coordinate daily work activities with project managers, general contractors, other trades, inspectors, and suppliers.
- Mentor and guide less experienced terrazzo installers
- Complete reports and document correspondence
- Manage multiple projects at once
Requirements
- At least 3-5 years of experience as a terrazzo installer on commercial projects
- Ability to read and interpret construction prints and specifications

FOREMAN
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate tasks on complex and high-profile tile installation projects
- Mentor and guide less experienced tile installers; train tile setter journeymen to become tile foremen.
- Surface preparation (grinding floors, installing crack isolation membrane, waterproofing, applying self-leveler, etc)
- Setting/installing tile, setting up room/area layouts
- Run project sites: coordinate material and labor needs with office staff; communicate (in-person, via phone, via email) with general contractor on behalf of Artisan Tile.
- Help coordinate deliveries
- Attend on-site project coordination meetings with foremen from other trades and general contractor personnel
- Establish and maintain a safe work environment; communicate safety concerns with office and on-site safety officer
- Submit daily reports in Procore for Artisan Tile Inc
- Submit whatever daily reports are required by the general contractor

APPRENTICE INSTALLERS
Responsibilities
- Learning from skilled tile setters and finishers on-site to complete project tasks, including:
- Cleaning
- Surface preparation (grinding floors, installing crack isolation membrane, waterproofing, applying self-leveler, etc).
- Mixing grout and thinset
- Setting/installing tile
- Helping tile setter journeymen and foremen with room layout
- Moving materials
- Overall, assisting site foremen and journeymen with their tasks. Primary roles of apprentice positions are to learn the job skills and help the experienced installers. An apprentice tile setter has more experience than an apprentice tile finisher. However, while they are still learning from site leadership, apprentice tile setters are expected to be able to work with a higher level of independence to complete tasks and help less experienced tile installers on the job.
Requirements
- Tile Finisher apprentice: does not require prior experience; we provide training on-site and through the Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers (Local 2).
- Tile Setter Apprentice: Tile finisher apprenticeship, or equivalent experience required to start on higher pay-scale.

- Learning from site foreman and supervisors on how to effectively run projects (learning how to move from journeyman tile setter to foreman tile setter)

- At least 1-2 years of experience as a tile setter
- Proof of journeyman-level competency in installation skills
